GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies said they have arrested a Simpsonville man accused of sexually assaulting two girls, who were 5 and 7 at the time, and believe there may be more victims.

Deputies said Mark Allen Weaver, 51, was charged with 10 counts of committing or attempting a lewd act upon a child under 16 years old, and five counts of criminal sexual conduct first-degree or attempt with a minor where the victim is under 11 years of age.

Weaver is accused of sexually assaulting the sisters and inappropriately touching them five years ago, deputies said.

Master Deputy Jonathan Smith said investigators were contacted in June by Mauldin Middle School's resource officer after one of the victims reported she had been sexually assaulted more than once by Weaver.

According to Smith, the victims were playing at Weaver's home with his kids when he inappropriately touched them.

Smith said investigators feel there may be additional victims and ask anyone with information to contact the Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children Unit at 864-467-4704.

According to Smith, Weaver was a deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office over 25 years ago. He said he discovered Weaver had been employed with them from May 1985 until October 1986 when he resigned.

Smith said Weaver has had no affiliation with the sheriff's office since his departure.
