Former Upstate principal, football coach McIntosh dies

LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Former Upstate high school principal and football coach Wayne McIntosh has died, Laurens District 55 Superintendent Billy Strickland confirmed on Wednesday.

McIntosh was the principal at Laurens District 55 high school for three years until his retirement in 2012.

Prior to being principal at the school, he held the job at York High School and two other schools in Georgia, according to Strickland.

McIntosh had also been the head football coach at Blue Ridge High School and Chester High School.

Strickland said McIntosh had some past heart issues.
