SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies said they were investigating a series of car break-ins that were reported in the Simpsonville area Thursday morning.

As of 10:30 a.m. Greenville County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jennings Autry said six car break-ins were reported in the Carrington subdivision.

Autry said deputies were called to homes on Oxbow Court, Rivergreen Way, Headwater and Headwater Court in the subdivision.

Car break-ins were also reported at three other addresses on West Georgia Road, Autrey said.

Autry said deputies are still investigating the case and specific information about the cars targeted and items stolen was not yet available.

"In situations like these, we just like to remind everyone to always keep your car doors locked and to take valuables out of your car when you aren't in it," Autrey said.
