ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office said that a 68-year-old woman was located Friday morning.

Lt. Sheila Cole said Gail Huggins was reported missing on Thursday. She had been last seen by her son late in the evening on July 1.

This was not the first time the woman had wandered off from her Humbert Street home, but she was considered "at risk" because she suffers dementia, Cole said.

Cole said Huggins was with a friend who drove her to the sheriff's office after seeing a news story about Huggins' disappearance on television.

Cole said Huggins was safe and well.

"The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the citizens of Anderson County and members of the media for their assistance in locating Ms. Huggins," Cole said.
