GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies said a man who was injured in a shooting outside a home was arrested on outstanding warrants.

Deputies said the shooting was reported on the 1500 block of Anderson Road near Goodrich Street just before 9 p.m. Thursday evening.

Deputies said the original calls were for a fight in progress, but when deputies arrived, the homeowner told them that he fired a shot into the ground when he saw the suspect on his property without permission.

Deputies said a bullet fragment bounced off the ground and hit the suspect in the shoulder.

Deputies said the suspect, Jeffrey Parker, 42, was arrested on two bench warrants issued after Parker failed to appear in court . The bench warrants charged Parker with possession of drug paraphernalia and transporting alcohol with a broken seal.

The homeowner is not expected to face charges.
