Some Hollywood magic is being made in a Western North Carolina town.
Old Fort Mayor Rick Hensley said a production team began filming a comedy starring Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis on Friday morning.
Hensley said the production team built sets inside the former Ethan Allen furniture plant on Commerce Street and started shooting in and around the plant on Friday.
Hensley said there won't likely be much of an opportunity to see what's happening on the set.
"Commerce Street is blocked off at both ends, but and there are a few spots around town where you might be able to see some of what's going on with a good pair of binoculars," Hensley said.
Hensley said the filmmakers have announced additional shooting dates in Old Fort on July 25, July 31, Aug. 6 and Aug. 8.
Henley said the filmmakers have kept quiet about much of the process and the plot, but the mayor said the production has generated a lot of excitement.
"It's great that this movie is pumping new blood into the town," Henley said.
