ELLENBORO, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Rutherford County Fire Marshall is investigating a possible arson which deputies say was the result of a domestic dispute.

On Friday around 10 a.m., the Ellenboro Fire Department and Rutherford County deputies were dispatched to a house fire on Hollis Road in Ellenboro.

Deputies said Billy James Atchley was arrested in connection with an earlier domestic dispute and is a suspect in the arson of the home.

The sheriff's office said they are in the process of securing warrants against Atchley for assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats.

They said the case is still under investigation.
