Deputies in Spartanburg County said they were called to investigate domestic violence in which the victim and her family reported that the suspect posted a video of the beating on Facebook.

Deputies said Terry Reed Jr., 34, was charged with criminal domestic violence first offense in the case.

The victim said Reed, her boyfriend, had come to her home just before midnight Friday and the two began to argue about the victim's decision to break-up with Reed.

After repeatedly asking Reed to leave, the victim told deputies that reed eventually dragged her by her arms into her bedroom, threw her on the bed, then climbed on top of her and choked her until she couldn't breathe, according to incident reports.

Next, the victim said Reed took her cell phone and began recording video of himself continuing to beat the woman. According to incident reports, this video was posted to Facebook.

Deputies said a few of the victim's family members saw the video on Facebook, which they said depicted Reed beating the victim as she pleaded for him to stop, and drove over to the victim's house to check on her.

When the family members arrived and knocked on the door, the victim told deputies she was able to get away and ran outside, where she called 911.

Family members told deputies that Reed then came to the door with a kitchen knife and refused to leave until deputies arrived.

Reed admitted uploading a video to Facebook, according to reports. He told deputies he posted the clip accidentally and later removed the post, but that the video did not show any violence of his part.

Reed claimed the victim was the aggressor and started attacking him after he received a phone call from another woman.

Reed told deputies he recorded video of the victim's behavior in case he needed to prove he was attacked later. He showed deputies several videos on his phone, but none showed any fighting involving Reed or the victim, according to reports.

He also told deputies that he was the person who called 911 after the victim's family arrived, and that he had armed himself with a knife because the family members arrived with guns and had made threats to kill him.

Deputies said the victim was crying and very shaken up. Incident reports state she had multiple injuries, including a knot on her forehead, bruises on her neck, bruises under each bicep, and a cut on her leg.

Deputies said the house showed signs of disarray that were consistent with the victim's version of events and injuries, and that enough evidence was collected to place Reed under arrest.

Deputies noted that Reed had several criminal domestic violence charges listed on his criminal history, but had not been convicted in any of the cases.

Reed is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
