ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Asheville police said they have charged a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian Sunday afternoon.
Sgt. Dave Romick said a vehicle ran off the road and hit a person walking on the sidewalk along the 400 block of Kimberly Avenue just after noon.
Romick said Virginia Senechal, 66, of Asheville, was killed in the crash.
Romick said the driver, 29-year-old Maximilian Alexander, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, operating a vehicle in a careless and reckless manner and no insurance. He was released on $2,000 bond.
