Person tumbles down waterfall, rescued on Lake Jocassee

PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials said a person tumbled down a waterfall at Laurel Fork Falls Park on Lake Jocassee Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, 30 emergency personnel from Pickens and Oconee counties responded to the falls.

The injured person was reached by boats from Devil Fork State Park in Oconee County. 

Authorities said crews used complex rope rescue systems to lower the person from the upper area of the falls to the rescue boats below.

The injured person was taken by boat to an awaiting medical helicopter. Officials have not released the person's condition at this time.
