CHESNEE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said they were called to a home on Monday to investigate a child's death.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger said his office was called to a home on Rainbow Lake Road near the Pacolet River, north of Boiling Springs.

Dispatchers said the coroner and deputies were called to the home where a drowning was first reported, but Lt. Tony Ivey with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said initial reports that the child may have drowned have not been confirmed.

Deputies said the boy was found on the floor of a bedroom and his death is under investigation.

The coroner's office identified the child as 3-year-old Eric Yesse.

They said an autopsy was conducted and the results are pending microscopic and toxicological examinations.
