COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate couple leaving for a week at the beach stopped to buy a scratch-off ticket and won $200,000.

South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the Piedmont couple bought the Silver 6's scratch-offs from the V GO Mart on River Road.

Though the first one was a loser, the second was a winner.

"He came running in the house screaming, ‘Look! Look!'" the winner's wife told lottery officials.

The family went on to the beach, stopping in Columbia to claim their prize, telling lottery officials they would use the money for a down payment on a new home.

The couple took home the first top prize in the Silver 6's game, with four top prizes remaining. The odds of winning it are 1 in 600,000.

The V GO Mart in Piedmont received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
