GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A fundraiser is planned to help the family of a toddler who died in an accident at Lake Greenwood State Park earlier in July.

According to troopers, on July 5, an SUV hit 18-month-old Regan Griffin, who later died at the hospital.

"Our hearts sank when we got the call," said Regan's pastor Rev. Jason Webb, who gave Regan's eulogy.

And now during a time when many feel helpless, they are hopeful, including close family friend Ace Johnson.

"She's got an infectious smile. How can you not fall in love with her?" Johnson said. "I don't think any of us will ever forget her. She'll always be in our hearts."

And what came from their hearts is a community fundraiser to help Regan's family with hospital and funeral costs. The event will be held at Grace Community Church on Sunday at 1611 Woodlawn Road in Greenwood.

The fundraiser is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and all proceeds will help the family with expenses. There will be live music, bounce houses, food and a donation dropoff.
