Greenville man sentenced for possession of child pornography

Posted: Updated:

A Greenville man was sentenced to over 8 years in prison for possession of child pornography, U.S. attorney Bill Nettles announced on Tuesday.

According to Nettles, agents received information that someone in Greenville was using peer-to-peer software to download child pornography through the Internet.

Law enforcement was able to determine the IP address of the computer used to download the material and traced it to the home of 26-year-old Christopher E. Miller.

Agents executed a search warrant at Miller's home and seized computers where they discovered hundreds of images and videos of minors engaging in sexual conduct.

A judge sentenced him to 97 months imprisonment, five years of supervised release and ordered him to pay a $100 special assessment fee.
