UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Storms dumped over two inches of rain in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties on Tuesday evening, causing damage and flooding in some areas.

In Union County, heavy rains caused flooding in the 800 block of Main Street in Buffalo, as well as at the intersection of Buffalo West Springs Highway and Linersville Road.  There was also a report of flooding in the 1200 block of Lockheart Highway.

A large tree was reported down in the 500 block of Elford Grove Road in Jonesville.  Dispatch said the tree blocked the road, and DOT was called to the scene to remove it.

The rain came with a cold front that swept through the Upstate on Tuesday night.  Wednesday is expected to be dry, with temperatures cooler than normal and lower humidity.
