SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they recognized a woman walking back and forth in Spartanburg as someone who was recently arrested during a prostitution sting.

Spartanburg County deputies said they were sent to the area of Law and Sibley streets about possible prostitution on Wednesday and saw a woman loitering.

When they spoke with her, she told officers she was looking for a ride home. But according to deputies, when the officer asked if she had ever been arrested for prostitution, she admitted yes, only a week earlier.

Deputies said they asked her again what she was doing and she said "working."

The woman, identified as 39-year-old Alice Carroll, was arrested and charged with prostitution.

Spartanburg police said Carroll was one of seven women accused of prostitution and arrested during a sting in late May.
