Beer theft suspect faces multiple charges

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said a man faces multiple charges after he swiped several cases of Bud Light from a Bi-Lo supermarket and threatened the store manager with a knife.

Deputies said Jeffrey Foster, 45, of Wellford, walked out of the Bi-Lo on North Town Drive with a shopping cart loaded with containers of Bud Light Saturday afternoon.

According to incident reports, a store manager confronted Foster and told him to return the beer. Foster is then accused of pulling what looked like a knife on the manager and warning him not to come any closer. Next, reports state Foster loaded five cases of beer into a green Dodge van and drove off, leaving 12 cases of beer behind in the cart.

Deputies said they found the van parked at an address on Kings Wood Avenue with Foster inside.

Deputies said they also found the five cases of beer and a fixed blade knife inside the van.

Foster was charged with armed robbery and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Foster is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
