PIEDMONT, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they are looking for a burglar after a Piedmont man awoke to find the subject in his home Monday morning.

Anderson County deputies said the homeowner was awoken by his house alarm and heard someone inside his Reedy Drive house about 6:25 a.m.

The victim told deputies the burglar ran outside while carrying two compound bows and a rifle.

The homeowner fired about six shots at the man as he was running away, but did not know if he hit him, according to deputies.

Deputies said they tried searching for the burglar but did not find him, though they did locate the bows and rifle in the woods.

Deputies tried searching for the suspect towards Cooper Road but lost him.

Anyone with information on the burglary should call Crime Stopper at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
