GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Monday began with patchy fog, mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain falling across parts of the Upstate and western North Carolina.

Rain totals could reach up to 1 inch by late evening, and though widespread flooding is not expected, a few isolated areas with high streams could overflow their banks.

Monday's highs will peak in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Overnight, expect mostly cloudy skies to continue with a few showers and lows in the 60s.

Tuesday again brings mostly cloudy skies with highs in the low to mid-80s with a few showers and thunderstorms possible, especially in the afternoon.

Wednesday will see a little more sunshine break through with an isolated shower possible and highs back in the mid- to upper 80s. Thursday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few showers and storms late in the day with highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Friday should be mostly dry with an isolated storm possible and highs in the 80s across the area. Next weekend looks to bring a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid- to upper 80s and a slight chance for rain.
