ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

ZZ Top has canceled several shows, including an upcoming concert at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville.

The band has called off the shows due to an unexpected surgery for bassist Dusty Hill, according to the Biltmore. The classic rock group was to kick off the 18th annual Biltmore Concert Series on Wednesday, July 30.

Posted on the band's Facebook page, they said Hill will have two kidney stones removed this week to prevent more serious problems down the line.

Their tour dates affected include Morton, MN (July 25), West Bend, WI (July 26), Cincinnati (July 27), Louisville (July 29), Bethlehem, PA (Aug. 1), in addition to the Asheville show. They will return to the stage after two weeks off on Aug. 6 in Sturgis, SD.

Because of their fully-booked concert schedule, Biltmore spokesperson said they will not be able to reschedule the show for the concert series. The concert series hopes to host ZZ Top in the future.

Guests who have already purchased tickets will be notified and automatic refunds will be issued.

Steely Dan performs on Thursday, July 31. On Friday, Aug. 15, Three Dog Night and 38 Special will perform. Thursday, Aug. 21 features Steven Curtis Chapman and Third Day then on Saturday, Aug. 23, Boston - The Heaven on Earth Tour will perform.

The final show of the season is on Thursday, Aug. 28 featuring Lyle Lovett and His Large Band and Emmylou Harris. All shows start at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the other shows may be purchased either on Biltmore's website, www.biltmore.com/concerts, or by calling 866-336-1255.
