COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Taylors couple who won $1 million told lottery officials they celebrated their win with lunch at McDonald's.

South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the husband buys Powerball and Mega Millions tickets weekly but until the July 16 game, they had nothing to show for it.

When they realized they won, the man said "We're having lunch at McDonald's."

His wife replied, "We might splurge and try something that's not on the dollar menu," according to the lottery.

The couple said the money won't change how they live and they're keeping the win a secret for now, but will eventually tell family and friends.

The Garden Spot 4 received a commission of $10,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
