GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Newberry County deputies said they have made an arrest in a shooting that left a 19-year-old man dead.

On Sunday, deputies said they were called to a large block party on Rikard School Road in Prosperity after receiving complaints about traffic congestion and noise. They said they arrived to find the street completely blocked by vehicles.

Deputies said shots were fired as they were working their way through the cars and crowd. At that point, deputies said, a large crowd of more than 100 people began running from the scene.

After deputies were able to get through the crowd, they said they found a man unresponsive on the ground, with a gunshot wound to the head. Deputies said EMS confirmed the victim had died.

Deputies said they were soon notified that another person that had been shot was being driven to the hospital by a private vehicle.

Deputies said 29-year-old Jonathan Dominick charged with murder in the shooting on Tuesday after he was released from the hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound he suffered during the incident.

Deputies said there is no indication that Dominick was shot by the victim, who the coroner identified as Zemeckis Houston.

The shooting is believed to be related to an ongoing dispute between Dominick and the victim, according to investigators.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing.
