The FDA has issued a recall for fruit sold at several local stores due to a possible listeria contamination.

Peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots from Wawona Packing Company of Cutler, CA are being recalled from multiple stores in Ohio and Indiana. The recall is only for fruit packaged between June 1 and July 12 of this year.

Kroger has issued a recall of affected fruits, as well as Costco, Walmart and Trader Joe's.

Some of these stores have contacted customers who bought recalled fruits. They are offering refunds for the returned fruit.

A listeria infection can affect pregnant women, children and elderly, or others with a weakened immune system.
