ORO VALLEY, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A 16-month-old is in critical condition after a near-drowning on Tuesday night.

The Oro Valley Police Department and Golder Ranch Fire Department responded to the 300 block W. Sacaton Canyon, near Tangerine and Oracle, where a woman reportedly found her child at the bottom of a pool around 6 p.m.

The mother reportedly got the baby out of the pool and performed CPR until emergency crews transported the child to the University of Arizona Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
