A cold front is heading toward the Carolinas and Georgia, first bringing rain, then some less muggy air.
The showers and storms will arrive through the day on Thursday. A few stronger storms could produce damaging wind and hail.
It will be slightly warmer and more humid than Wednesday, with highs near 90 in the Upstate and 82 in the mountains. Once the cold front passes Thursday evening, skies begin to clear with lows dropping quickly into the 60s.
Sunny, warm weather returns for Friday and the weekend, with the next chance for rain pushing in late Sunday into Monday. Friday should stay "normal" but the following days will feature warmer than average temps in the low 90s Upstate.
Another cold front pushes in Monday bringing mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain and storms, and once that passes, temperatures drop back into the 70s and mid-80s with sunshine through midweek.
