SWANTON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

An accident involving a semi caused the closure of both directions of US 20 at the Fulton-Lucas County line in Swanton.

Sgt Josh Bolduan with the Ohio Highway Patrol says a semi went off the road and through a guardrail around 3:45 Thursday morning.

Troopers believe the driver was going about 75 miles an hour and may have fallen asleep. He's been taken to a hospital minor injuries.

Troopers say both lanes of the road will be closed for a few hours, as the EPA has to clean up a fuel leak.  The eastbound lanes were temporarily reopened around 5 AM, but have since been closed once again.

Drivers looking to avoid the closure can head north to Sylvania/County Rd S or south to Bancroft/County Rd N.

We'll have a crew on scene and will continue to update you on this breaking news story as more information becomes available.
