Showers taper off, clear skies Friday morning

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

We will see isolated showers and storms continue to taper off this evening as skies begin to clear up behind a cold front that passed throughout the day on Thursday.

Friday morning will see mostly clear skies with a few areas of patchy fog as well as temperatures settled in the lower 60s across the mountains and upper 60s in the Upstate and North East Georgia.

Friday will remain mostly sunny throughout the day with temperatures slightly cooler than Thursday by about a degree or two.

Look to see highs peak in the upper 80s across the Upstate while western North Carolina peaks in the lower 80s.

A warm front approaching from the south will bump Saturday temperatures into the lower 90s in the Upstate and upper 80s in the mountains under mostly sunny skies.

The weekend will continue to be hot and dry on Sunday with plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs in the mid-90s and upper 80s.

The approach of a cold front will bring a slight chance of rain late in the day on Sunday as well as increasing cloud cover.

Monday will start the following work week with cooler temperatures, cloudy skies and the return of rain chances.
