PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The owner of the famous Bunny Ranch brothel in Nevada will be in the Valley on Wednesday night as part of a symposium on how to help Arizona combat human trafficking and prostitution.

The organizers invited Dennis Hof and Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne to the event, but Horne has since backed out.

Hof in July offered to open a temporary legal brothel in Phoenix for the 2015 Super Bowl, but city leaders already laughed that idea away.

Topics of discussion will include new human trafficking laws and how prosecutors and law enforcement will address the problem and the plans for prostitution activity during the Super Bowl and Phoenix Open.

Hof will discuss Nevada prostitution laws, regulation and tax base. He will also explain how he thinks regulating prostitution is a better idea than tougher penalties.

The symposium will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Phoenix campus of Arizona State University, 502 E. Monroe St.
