A Spartanburg teenager was held against her will and beaten by her child's father, only able to escape once he left for work, according to deputies.

Spartanburg County deputies said the 15-year-old girl escaped from the suspect's Case Avenue home about 9 a.m. on Monday when he left for work, running to a neighbor's house to call a relative for help.

The girl was taken to the hospital where she told deputies 17-year-old Eric Quevedo attacked her after they got into a fight about her cell phone when he was unable to unlock it, according to a sheriff's office report.

The report said Quevedo punched and kicked the girl, then slammed her head against the bathtub and floor. Deputies said Quevedo then told her to shower off the blood from her head and face so there would be no evidence.

At one point, a neighbor came over to use the phone and the girl tried to get help but Quevedo kept her inside, the report said. Then she ran out the back door, but he was able to pull her back in, holding his hand over her mouth as she screamed for help, according to the report.

The victim said Quevedo threatened her, saying, "I don't care if I go to jail, you'll be dead by the night is over with," according to the report.

Another 15-year-old was at the house during the attack but left, leaving Quevedo to assault the girl, according to the report.

During the attack, deputies said the girl's 1-year-old son was asleep in the home.

Deputies arrested Quevedo, charging him with kidnapping and criminal domestic violence high and aggravated. He is being held on $30,000 bond.
