ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are looking for a man they said fired shots in the parking lot of an Anderson nightclub on Sunday.

Anderson County deputies said a fight started inside Andrew's on Cinema Center Boulevard then the suspect, 35-year-old Abbrill Thompson, went outside to get a gun from his car.

Deputies said Thompson then shot Nicholas Chester, 25, in the parking lot, hitting him in the hand.

Warrants for attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime have been signed for Thompson's arrest, deputies said.

The manager of Andrew's said the shooting happened outside the night club. Kelley said security guards also locked the doors to protect other patrons from the gunman in the moments after the shooting.

"Our security pulled the (victim) inside to keep him out of harms way," club manager Everett Kelley said in an email.

Anyone with information concerning Thompson's whereabouts is asked to call investigators at 864-231-2807 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
