SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Spartanburg man is accused of shooting his girlfriend in the neck with a BB gun and threatening to blind her after her ex-husband stopped by their home, according to police.

On Monday, the woman's ex-husband and their daughter stopped by to pick up something, upsetting the victim's boyfriend 46-year-old Oscar Mathews, according to a Spartanburg police report.

The next day, Mathews became upset she did not apologize for her ex stopping by and while she was lying in bed, he shot mirrors next to the bed, police said. When the victim noticed he shot the mirrors, he then fired the gun at her, the report stated.

The victim noticed her neck stung and was bleeding, police said. Then Mathews held the gun to her head and ordered her to shower to wash away the blood, so she got in with her clothes on, afraid, according to the report. The report said he also said threatened to shoot her in the eyes and blind her.

The victim said she was afraid to call for police so she waiting until morning, acting as if nothing was wrong and left for work, police said.

When she went to the hospital, police said there was still a BB in her neck.

Online jail records show Mathews was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
