WAUSEON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury accident that occurred Friday on the Ohio Turnpike, about a mile west of Wauseon.

OSHP says a van carrying five people was traveling eastbound on the Turnpike and lost control. A patrol dispatcher says the van blew a tire. The van ended up overturned in a ditch.

The driver, Rosa Barrios, 49, of Waukegan, IL, along with one passenger, Marbella Barrios, 17, were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The three other passengers, Antonio Barrios, 57, Xiomara Lopez, 17, and Irma Rosiles, 54, all of Waukegan, were taken by air ambulance to the hospital with serious and critical injuries.

Eastbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed for an hour and a half.

Troopers say alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation.
