ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies said a car chase ended with a suspected drunk driver crashing into several structures in a mobile home park and running away from the scene.

Anderson County deputies said they joined the chase around 2:15 a.m. after witnessing a SC highway patrol vehicle chasing a vehicle on Whitehall Road.

Deputies said they lost sight of the blue Honda Civic near North Main Street but received word a few minutes later that a car matching the description of the suspect's vehicle had crashed into multiple residences near Bronco Drive and Chief Drive in the McDuffie Street Park mobile home community.

Ruby Porter said she was sleeping when the car rammed into the side of her home. She explained how the bed shook and her chest of drawers started "dancing," and the lights went out.

"I just thought it was a tornado coming through. I didn't know what it was. It scared me to death. I was crying and everything; I was scared," Porter said.

Deputies said the suspect's car had damaged a white picket fence surrounding the mobile home park and then crashed into the underpinning of a mobile home on Bronco Drive. The vehicle then continued, striking a carport and an outbuilding on Searay Drive, deputies said, before the car finally came to a rest after crashing into Porter's front porch and an outbuilding on Chief Drive.

Deputies said the driver ran off.

Troopers reported seeing a male with a beard, wearing what appeared to be a green shirt, running near Kinert Circle.

K-9 teams were called in but were not able to locate the suspect, deputies said.

No injuries were mentioned in the police report.
