SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A missing elderly Moore man has been located safe, more than 100 miles from his Upstate home, according to deputies.

Spartanburg County deputies said 85-year-old Harry Tasker Jr. was reported missing on Sunday about 4 p.m. after his caregiver discovered Tasker and his vehicle were gone, but his mobile phone was left behind.

His daughter has computer access to his bank records and informed deputies that there were two debit card transactions on his account Sunday between 8:50 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. in Spartanburg.

According to the incident report, he may have left after 6 a.m. because the Sunday newspaper had been picked up.

His daughter also told deputies Tasker suffers from dementia, but has no idea where he may be headed.

Deputies said Tasker was found in Thomson, GA, after pulling into a convenience store but seemed confused. The clerk called police, who found Tasker's name listed as an endangered missing person, deputies said.

They said Tasker was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. Thomson is approximately 125 miles away from Tasker's Moore home.
