GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Gamecock, Georgia and SEC fans across the area can breathe a sigh of relief that they will get the chance to watch their football games this fall if they are one of the millions of Charter Communications customers.

Charter and ESPN finalized a deal allowing the network to distribute the Southeastern Conference channel, which launches on Aug. 14.

According to a press release issued by Charter, channel subscribers will have access to additional live events scheduled for the SEC Network's digital platforms, including WatchESPN and SECNetwork.com.

The new network will offer more than 1,000 live events, including 45 exclusive SEC football games, more than 160 men's and women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, 50 softball games and more in its first year.

"Millions of fans nationwide – including those in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas – will be pleased to know that this latest agreement with Charter will ensure that the SEC Network will be available to them at launch," SEC Commissioner Mike Slive said in the release.
