KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A caregiver is facing charges after two children were found wandering through Kansas City on Friday morning.

About 11:30 a.m. police were called after people found two boys, ages 4 and 3, walking around Independence Avenue near Elmwood. A worker at a nearby auto body shop spotted the kids, got worried and called 911.

"The police talked to the babies. They say 'where do you live?' The babies say 'I don't know, I don't know,'" said Marco Sosa, who called 911.

Neighbors recognized the kids, so they helped police figure out that they lived just a few blocks away.

Their aunt had been watching them when they wandered off and was charged with child endangerment, a misdemeanor.

Police returned the kids to their mother and both were OK.
