SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies in Spartanburg County said a man has been charged with attempted murder and weapons charges after he was accused of shooting another man seven times.

Spartanburg County emergency dispatchers said the shooting happened at an address on Parkwood Drive just after 3 p.m. Saturday.

The victim told deputies he and David Smith got into a fight before Smith pulled out a gun and started firing, according to incident reports.

Lt. Kevin Bobo said the victim was conscious and talking to deputies when they arrived on the scene.

Smith was taken into custody Sunday and is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center on no bond.
