GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

While emergency shelters opened by the Red Cross in Greenville have closed, Red Cross officials say volunteers and Greenville County Emergency management employees will form damage assessment teams to tour flood damaged neighborhoods Sunday.

Officials said the 30 disaster volunteers will perform damage assessments in Greenville County neighborhoods that sustained major flood damage Saturday night.

The volunteers will also distribute clean-up kits to residents whose homes were damaged. Officials said the kits include items such as work gloves, mops, and cleaning products.

The Red Cross opened two emergency shelters late Saturday night. One was at the Red Cross headquarters at 940 Grove Road. The second at the Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church at 741 Cleveland St. in Greenville. Those shelters closed Sunday at 5 a.m.

The Red Cross said they will keep people updated with additional advisories if needed.
