WILLIAMSTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Firefighters, police and EMS were called to a building collapse in Williamston on Monday.

Williamston Police Chief Tony Taylor said around 5 p.m. they were called to 5 Sullivan St. after reports of a loud noise.

When they arrived, they found the roof of a large builder there had partially collapsed, Taylor said.

He said no one was inside the building during the collapse.

According to Taylor, the building was built in the 1950s.

The owner of the building told FOX Carolina that the 14,000 square foot building used to be the Ellison corn mill.

He said the building was remodeled about 25 years ago and is now being used as storage.
