GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Battling against three other young cooks, an Anderson teen took home the first-ever title of Chopped Teen Grand Champion on the popular Food Network show.

Tommi Rae Fowler returned to battle three other finalists for the prize of $25,000, a culinary school scholarship worth $40,000 and the title during the finale on Tuesday night.

The culinary competition gives competitors a basket of various food items that must be included in the three rounds of the competition - appetizer, main course and dessert.

According to Food Network, Tommi Rae beat out fellow teens Sequoia, Dante and Jason with the three baskets that included a wide range of ingredients.

For the appetizer round, the young chefs cooked with purple cauliflower, kumquats, coconut caramel cookies and octopus. Then for the entree they had to use antelope chops, red curry paste, ants on a log and rainbow carrots. For the final battle, the desserts were made with chocolate-covered crickets, frozen mocha cappuccino, jelly doughnuts and Vacherin Mont d'Or cheese.

Tommi Rae told the network she plans to go to Disney World, taking her niece and nephew along for the experience. She she hopes to travel and one day have a restaurant.

"I love Southern homey food. It's where I came from and it's who I am. But I want to see what interests I pick up as I go along my way," she told the network after her win.

Tommi Rae attends Wren High School in Anderson County.
