GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two men were convicted on Friday in a 2013 armed robbery in Greenwood.

Solicitor David Stumbo said on July 26, 2013, Corey Brown, 35, Christopher Johnson, 26, and two other men waited for the victim to return to his Greenwood apartment with the intent to steal his car.

When the victim arrived, Brown and Johnson approached the victim, robbed him at gunpoint and forced him into his car, according to Stumbo.

After several stops, a struggle ensued and the gun discharged, narrowly missing the victim, Stumbo said.

The victim was able to get out of the car and escape to the Hot Spot Store on Highway 25 South.

Brown was sentenced to 25 years in prison by Judge Eugene Griffith Jr.

He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

Johnson's sentence will be sealed because he was tried in absence, and Stumbo said the sentence will be published after he is arrested.
