Clemson fans celebrate ahead of football season

CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Clemson University football team hosted its annual Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday in Memorial Stadium.

During the event presented by Greenville Heath Systems and Coca-Cola,Coach Dabo Swinney and players signed autographs for fans.

Autograph were handed out to the first 5,000 fans age 18 and under through the gates, and football posters were available to all fans at the gates.

Many fans also purchased game tickets and stocked up on Clemson novelties.

The Clemson Tigers will kick-off the upcoming football season on the road against Georgia on August 30.

Fans and students will be able to watch the season opener in the lower bowl of Memorial Stadium for free. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.
