Police: Woman attacked at Clemson apartment, suspect sought

CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Clemson police are looking for a suspect after a woman was assaulted and choked until she was unconscious.

Police said on Aug. 9 around 8:45 p.m. they responded to the victim at Falls Landing Apartments on Old Central Road.

The female victim told police she was outside her apartment when someone came from behind her and dragged her inside her apartment. 

Once inside, the suspect choked the woman until she was unconscious.

Police said the victim regained consciousness and saw the suspect inside the apartment attempting to steal a TV.

Police identified the suspect as Charnel Johnson, of Pickens.

Johnson is wanted on the charges of first-degree burglary and high and aggravated assault and battery.

Police said callers can remain anonymous.
