2-vehicle crash results in death of both unbuckled drivers

WALKER COUNTY, (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers say a two-vehicle crash Monday has claimed the lives of both drivers.

According to a press release, Jeremy Phillips, 34, of Cordova and Jeffrey Stovers, 50, of Jasper were both killed when the 2006 Ford F150 Phillips was driving collided head on with the 2007 Chevy Silverado Stovers was driving.

Investigators say a passenger in the F150 33-year-old Natasha Phillips, who was weating a seat belt at the time of the crash, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to UAB.

An investigation determined both Jeremy Phillips and Stovers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred at 9:15 p.m. on Alabama 69 at the 212 mile marker, six miles east of Jasper.
