IVA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

David 'Scott' Flowers, 41, was killed in a two-car crash on Augusta Road in Greenville County on Aug. 14.

Flowers was a 1990 graduate of BHP High School and worked at General Electric. He was also a husband of almost 19 years to Misty Flowers and a father to Keaton, Kaitlyn and Kinsley Flowers.

His son, Keaton, lost not only his dad but his best friend.

"It's kind of difficult here, you know. It's hard. It still doesn't seem real you know," explained Keaton Flowers.

Keaton Flowers is getting ready to attend Lander University in September. It's supposed to be an exciting time in his life, but for this young man, he's still trying to grasp the reality that his dad is gone.

"I feel like he's just going to walk through the door, but he can't," said Keaton Flowers.

It's hard on his younger sisters, too, and of course, their mom, Misty Flowers.

FOX Carolina interviewed her Tuesday night, Aug. 20, a day Misty and Scott celebrated every year.

"Today is our anniversary; it's 19 years today," said Misty Flowers.

Scott Flowers' family said he always put them first, and he always knew how much they love him.

"I told Scott I loved him the day he left to go to work. I had texted him and (he) never texted me back," explained Misty Flowers.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said Scott Flowers died at the hospital after being hit from behind on Augusta Road near the intersection of Garrison Road. The crash remains under investigation.

A family member has set up a gofundme account for the Flowers children's college fund. You can donate at http://www.gofundme.com/d3mx38
