RUTHERFORDTON, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The viral Ice Bucket Challenge is dominating social media, raising millions for the ALS Association.

The group said today it had received $41.8 million in donations since July 29.

It seems everyone is doing it, including former presidents and even celebrities. But there's been one man who hasn't accepted the challenge, President Barack Obama.

Brandon Franklin, of Rutherfordton, sent FOX Carolina a video showing him accepting the Ice Bucket Challenge.

He in turn challenged Obama to accept his challenge within 24 hours or pay $100 to the ALS Association.

Close to 30,000 Americans have amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease. It affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
