One person was hospitalized following a Saturday morning house fire in the Mill Spring area, according to Polk County deputies.

The fire was reported just after 7:30 a.m. at a home on Pebble Lane in the Sunny View neighborhood, dispatchers said.

EMS crews reported that one burn patient was found rushed to Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

Lt. B.J. Bayne said the victim suffered burn injuries below the knees.

Bayne said the incident began as a domestic dispute, which quickly escalated to the point where one someone in the home started the fire.

No charges have been filed at this point. Bayne said the deputies are awaiting the outcome of the fire marshal's investigation before any charges may be filed.
