Dothan Police arrest individual wanted in firearm assault case

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) -

The Dothan Police Department has arrested a male in connection to a shooting that occurred on Wednesday.

Police arrested 28-year-old Christopher Denard Griffin after he allegedly shot a male victim in the leg.

The incident happened in the 700 block of Monroe Street. While in route to that location officers were advised that a subject had arrived at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the leg.

When officers met with the victim, they were told that the shooter went by the name "Lil C".

After an investigation was conducted, police found out that "Lil C" was in fact Griffin.

Griffin was located in the 2600 block of Denton Road, where he was taken into custody.

Griffin is being charged with first degree assault and is being held on a bond set at $100,000.
