Police identify motorcyclist killed in DUI crash

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville police said a 37-year-old Asheville man was killed after a man who was driving drunk and failed to yield to the victim's oncoming motorcycle.

Police said about 9 p.m. on Monday, a pickup truck headed south on Charlotte Street went to turn left to merge onto Interstate 240 East, but did not yield to the right of way.

The truck hit an oncoming motorcyclist, killing Joshua Calhoun at the scene, officers said.

The driver of the pickup, identified as John Zabriskie, 49, was arrested and charged with felony death by motor vehicle, driving while impaired and failure to yield right of way. Zabriskie was held on $25,000 bond.
