SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are looking for a Spartanburg man who escaped home detention after they said he removed his ankle monitor.

Spartanburg County deputies said a kid found the ankle bracelet somewhere near Whitlock Street at Ross Lane on Sunday about 11:30 a.m.

Deputies said the bracelet belonged to 21-year-old Lonnell Chamblee, who was on home detention and before cutting off the monitor.

Deputies said Chamblee was on home detention since May 27 on an assault and battery by mom third-degree charge.

Deputies did not say why Chamblee was home detention, but anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

According to arrest warrants, Chamblee's escape was discovered a day after his birthday.
